Medical Oncologist/Hematologist Born in Johnson City, Tennessee, Michael E Nash, M.D. attended Texas A&M University in College Station, TX where he graduated in 1980 Magna Cum Luade with Phi Kappa Phi honors. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 1984. Dr. Nash completed his residency and fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio. He is the former Chief of Oncology at Williams Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso. Practicing in Texas all of his career, Dr. Nash joined Cancer Specialists of South Texas in April, 1996. Dr. Nash is certified by the American Board of Internal Medical Oncology in Internal Medicine and is the only physician in the Coastal Bend who is Board Certified in Palliative Medicine. He is also a member of the American College of Physicians and a member in the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Nash and his wife have four children. |

Medical Oncologist/Hematologist Born in Vay Nuys, California, Anneliese O. Gonzalez, M.D. was raised in Caracas, Venezula, where she graduated from medical school from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1996. After practicing one year of rural medicine in Venezuela, Dr. Gonzalez, who is a fluent in Spanish and English, moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for her Internal Medicine Residency at Allegheny General Hospital, which she completed in 2001. From there, she moved to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at St. Elizabeths Medical Center. She graduated as Chief Fellow in 2004. Dr. Gonzalez is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology and Medical Oncology. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. |
Medical Oncologist/Hematologist Dr. Aftab Mahmood was born in Karachi, Pakistan where he spent his childhood. During his teenage years he moved to New Jersey where he completed his high school education. He returned to Karachi to attend Baqai Medical University and graduated in 1996. He completed his internship at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Karachi. Dr. Mahmood came back to the United States & completed his Internal Medicine residency at Michigan State University, Kalamazoo in 2001. He stayed one more year at MSU as Junior Faculty. Shortly after, Dr. Mahmood moved to Boston, Massachusetts to join the Hematology & Medical Oncology fellowship program at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center where he graduated in 2005. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Mahmood and his wife have two daughters.
